I have a number of carbon FSA parts on my bike and have been very impressed with their build quality. I bought a pair of FSA carbon k-Wing bars from Crosslake last year for about a third of retail and I love them. As a result, I didn't second guess when I saw this carbon seatpost for a great price. I thought it would be more than sufficient to build up my new cross bike.
However, I was very disappointed when I opened the package and felt how heavy the post is. I immediately inspected it and you can clearly see that it is an aluminum post with a carbon veneer. Shame on FSA for marketing this with "carbon" in the name. I don't blame Crosslake, but I do feel they could expand the description to better explain the materials.
If the post was even marginally light, I would have kept it. It feels like it is made of steel when compared to the Thompson Elite post I have on my MTB.

I have this seatpost coupled with a Fiziik Arione. Maybe its just my riding style, I do keep my knees extremely close to the top tube when pedaling, but the clamp rubs both of my inner thighs and just rips up my bib shorts even after a single ride.
